Hi everyone, im considering buying a used macbook pro from a friend
details here -> http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=335555
his warranty has run out, im just wondering if i can purchase applecare for the laptop after i buy it from him and if i have a problem with it will it be covered
also if there is a missing key on the keyboard do you think they would replace the keyboard if i purchased the applecare first?

Nope. and Nope.

once the 1st year warranty's run out you can't extend it with applecare...
-
if it less than a year old you can. otherwise not.

You have ONE YEAR FROM THE DAY YOU BUY IT to purchase it AppleCare for your computer. Not from the day you register it, but the day you buy it.

hmmm that so odd, my sister had a hard drive fail on her ipod
and she had it for more than a year, went into the store and the guy told her buy applecare for it and they would replace it otherwise they cant do anything, so she bought the applecare in store and the guy took it on the spot
i guess apple's laptop policies are more strict? is there anything i can do to give it some sort of warranty or something or is it basically just in my hands and hope it doesnt break -
