Do these have dual DVI ports? Or just one? In the photo on Apple's website it looks like the cable is captive with just one port, that would be disappointing.

AFAIK, it has a single cord that splits into the power and ONE DVI, To be fair, I think it would be rather difficult to find a monitor with 2 DVI ports. Also, the Dell 2405 is a much better way to go. The are great monitors and cause less, even after Apple's price drop. They also have a TON of connections.

There are a few with 2 DVI ports. Almost all have one DVI and one VGA. I don't know what apple is thinking with just 1 video input, it strikes it right off the list for me. The Dell is the cheapest for sure but I want to make sure I get the best image quality. I don't know if that is the Dell.

Look around at current reviews. The Dell's had a video proccessing issue that has been fixed. Aside from that they are the best LCD's available. The use the same panels as Apple btw. As for Apple using only one input, they are really only selling to people who have DVI. Also, most people who would hook up 2 devices to the ACD would hook two computers, and would then use a KVM switch. So the vast majority would only need the one connection. Having said that, for the money they are asking they need to offer AT LEAST as many connections as the Dell. BTW, the current Dell model is the 2407fpw, sorry for the mistake.

    cashmonee,

I have a dell 20" right now, and one of the things I notice is that it does a poor job displaying black to white gradients...like every 0.2" on the gradient will be one shade, then a hard transition to the next shade, not a gradual fade of black to white. Is this the "banding" that is talked about?

That has always been an issue with their 20" model. The 24" doesn't have that issue.
