I have a powerbook G4 and am thinking about upgrading to a Mac Book Pro (intel) but I have an important question regarding my older peripherals:

Does anyone know if the Nikon coolscan V has updated drivers for this system? I found that some of the printers are now being updated to carry them. If you have the driver or a link, can you please post it here?

If not, do you know of any other quality scanners that will work?

PS not using digital cameras yet, so It needs scanning capability.

    Thanks,

    WG

I looked into it a while ago and did not find a new one, but it should not need a new driver I don't THINK. Have you heard others having problems? I know when I download drivers for my Canon, it did not matter PPC or Intel. I think you should be ok. My suggestion is go to an Apple store and talk to them. If there is no Apple Store near you, call Apple, they will be glad to help.

Thanks for the reply. So far most mfg's are fairly clueless on the topic, apple included. The response from tech support is that they don't know. Meanwhile Epson's reps told me as well they didn't think it would work or that they don't know, but I found a driver for my printer that was created back in June.

So I'm hoping there is one for nikon's scaner too!
