13-inch: 2.26GHz, 2GB = £899
13-inch: 2.53GHz, 4GB = £1149
Is 2GB of RAM and .27GHz worth £250??

The first configuration is priced more agressively. Apple is taking a larger margin on the second configuration because they know many people will pay it anyway.
And 0.27GHz will ONLY benefit you when you're doing CPU intensive stuff. -
Personally I'd take the £899 model and increase RAM to 4GB and HD to 250GB - cost = £1019 ie .27GHz = £130 not good value IMO -
get base model

i would also have got the base model. also see if you can order from the education store. it's cheaper there.
-
But on the more expensive model it is the aluminum casing, better screen, and more importantly for me, it has the new multi touch mouse pad. The white one doesn't or at least that is what I have been told.

Quick question about 13" MBP spec options - price justified?
