So the new Batman trailer is online.. freakin' awesome!

BUT I'm kind of disappointed at the performance of the trailer on my MBP. It doesn't play very smoothly. I downloaded the medium quality to the hard drive (which is a pretty high res file) and set it to play. I have the base MBP with the 128 video card. Do you guys experience the same thing? What about the macbooks? Must be even choppier?

it isnt because of the macbook maybe the software
-
Probably just bad encodes. Those videos are all 1920x817 H.264/AAC with relatively high bitrates.
-
Yeah.. I tried it with VLC and that didn't play it any more smoothly
-
Clicked medium and played it using quicktime in a browser, and it ran prefectly fine...
-
Downloaded the medium resolution one to my hard drive and it worked fine on my MBP (base 2007 model). If there was any slowdown it was not noticeable.

Even the "Best" quality version plays fine on my MBP in QT 7.3.1. There was noticeable stuttering on an iMac G5 though. You could reencode the movie for smoother playback. Use XviD/DivX/FFmpeg and install Perian. Or even reencode with H.264/x.264 but reduce the resolution and bitrate.
Just thought I would mention that there is a 6-minute clip from The Dark Knight before IMAX screenings of I Am Legend. It's a full bank robbery scene from the upcoming movie. Try a google search for "6 minute dark knight bank heist" or something similar and see what you find.
Quicktime movie not very smooth..
