Yes. Unlike Bill, Steve isn't big friends with after market upgrades. 2GB would fly on OSX.

Don't the MBPs come standard with 2 GB anyways?

But yes, 2 GB of RAM will really help. Applications open faster, things don't lag as much (not that they lag a lot with 1 GB though), generally everything is faster without spending too much cash.

2 gigs runs Leopard exceptionally well. I recently upgraded to 4 gigs, and, with normal use, don't see any real difference. So, yea, 2 gigs will serve you just fine.

    2 gigs is just fine.

I have 4 gigs on my macbook pro...since I use windows and the apple OS simultaneously.

i have extensive experience using 2gb's and 4gb's with my mbp for extended periods of time, and for normal use you will likely not notice any difference, the real difference shows when you start using intensive programs that are infinitely ram hungry.

2 gigs is plenty for everyday tasks. I have tried 4 gig and 1 gig and not that much difference, although is noticeable.

If you haven't bought the MBP yet make sure you at least try it before you buy more ram. You will most likely be happy with it.
