Hi, I am looking to purchase a 15" MBP from apples refurb page. The model I am looking at is the Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. From what I can figure out, this may be last years unibody mb470 with the removable 4 hour battery. This unit also lists the dual video 9400m and 9600m gt. This is important to me and honestly it is the 1,299.00 price that is leaning me to this machine. I think the 13" may meet my needs just fine except for some layout work I do. But, with a 13" I am inclined to wait for the next refresh because the price of the current 13" may come down, or I may like the new i7 processor,(or whatever the new processor ends up being in there), and buy that. But with the 15", I want the 9600gt video and would not be able to afford the normal 1999.00 price point. So waiting would not help me get what I want/afford.

The one thing I can not figure out is if the 2.4GHz is in fact a Mb470 that includes an express card 34. It looks like it does in the picture but I can not find any test line that says this is included. I was wondering if someone has experience with Apple refurbished and knows if this unit includes the express card. I know in the new model this has been replaced with the sg card slot.

Also, any real information about doing business with the refurbished store, (good and bad), would be very appreciated. I have not bought Apple in a long time but but have owned in the past a 520c, 3400c, lombard, Pismo, and powerbook g4 800 dvi. Unfortunately, after the g4 tibook screen problems i bought a thinkpad that broke 3 weeks out of the warranty and they laughed at me when I asked if they would fix it anyway. Seems the nvida card overheated the system board which I did log a clam on when it was still in warranty. But because it was still unsettled the minute the warranty expired it became all my problem. I have been using my old G4 upgraded Pismo for 9 months, (still a fabulous performer), and remember how much I always liked apple OS so now would like to move back to them.

Any helpful comments about the product I am looking at, the store policy, and current Apple products would be most appreciated. Thanks

The 2.4Ghz does include the ExpressCard. I do not think that there is a 2.4GHz MBP that does not have it.

Yah, I have one. I believe that the 15" 2.4 is only available in the 2008 flavor, which includes an Express Card slot.
