    Along with other manufacturers, Apple will offer to replace the logic board for free if customers encounter distorted video or no video on MBP that has a 8600GT inside.

    Apple will repair the unit no charge (in and out of warranty). Affected units include both 15 and 17 inches with GeForce 8600M GT. Manufacturing date should be from May 2007 and Sept 2008.

    Sounds like great news. It would be nice if this became universal...but its good that some companies are taking ownership. I am almost positive Asus has not initiated a program like this, but I think Dell and HP have. On a side note, congrats on your certifications :)

    Apple just updated the repair policy for this, it has to be done within 2 years from date of purchase.
