Ive had FCE a little while now and hardly ever used it. iMovie seems to do everything I need, and I dont have time to sit and learn FCE properly, nor make videos via FCE. I prefer to throw some clips together with iMovie, add some text overlays and transitions, and thats it.

Im considering removing FCE and selling it on.
How can I cleanly remove FCE and also remove all settings etc, and every other file associated with FCE?

Apple doesn't have an uninstall program for FCE4.

Just drag the app icon from the Applications folder to trash - all done.

If you really want to be sure, something like AppZapper is an option. But this is usually more helpful with software that Apple doesn't build themselves.

Just dragging the app into trash wont be a 'clean' uninstall.
I want to remove all preference files, and every other file associated with FCE.

If I do decide to leave it installed, my brother said he would give me half the money I paid for it - can he also install it on his system while it is still on mine?

If you must be that complete, then again AppZapper or other good uninstall software would be necessary.

Apple doesn't require serial number or registration in order to activate and use their software - unlike, say, Adobe with PSE 8 or 9. They've thus far always relied on the honor system from their customers. That said, what you propose will work although you will be violating the terms of the license and EULA. Your conscience will be your guide :).

Oh, I thought Apple software could be used on 3 systems in the same household?
There goes that idea, I may remove it and sell it to him instead ;)
    Thanks.

Some of Apple's software is for 3 user if you buy that package. iLife and OSX can be purchased that way.

Yup, I thought FCE4 was as well.
I guess I could just sell it and leave it installed on my system, but its just living with the guilt afterwards! It would probably bug me!
