    Hey guys,

i accidentally transferred the ms office application folder to the desktop and then moved it to the trash. then i realised that all my office applications were in the folder and thus restored it from the trash to the applications folder.

the extremely noob question is this -> in windows when i move something to the trash especially an app, id have to reinstall it to get it functioning again. i noticed that in the mac everything just remained the same and there wasnt a need for installation.

is this normal or should i reinstall office?

Its normal. Applications on a MAC work differently to Windows.

With Windows when you install an app, it install dll files etc all over the place - in the windows common folder, in program files, and so on.

With a MAC when you 'install' an app, you are actually just extracting it. An app on a MAC is just like a self contained exe file on Windows - hence the reason why full installations are not normally required. The whole app just runs from the one contained file. Hence the reason why they still work when you move them around or moved it out of the Trash.

    Dont worry, everythings fine ;)
