I installed "hear" and i played around with it and didn't like it. So i removed the application. But now the sound on my macbook does not sound as good as it did before. There is too much bass and even with the eq in iTunes set. I compared the same song with my ipod touch and on my ipod touch it sounds correct. But on my macbook the sound has too much bass. So is there any way i can reset the sound settings to default?

Is this problem only happening in iTunes, or is it happening everywhere? If it is just iTunes, try going to iTunes>Preferences>Playback and unchecking Sound Enhancer and Sound Check.

It seems like its everywhere because i used vlc and played the song and compared to my ipod it sounds over EQ'd. Its just that in songs with more bass its more noticeable than other songs without as much bass. It sounds kinda like amp distortion. It sounds like there is too much bass, and the right amount of treble. But lacking in the mids.
I also just tried to input my ipod into my computer through the line in. And plugged my speakers into the headphone/line out jack and i get the same over EQ'd sound effect. -
Anyone know?
