Does anyone know if there any possible way to run a .bin file on Mac OS X? I don't mind using an emulator - but I will need some direction for that. :)

If so, can you either point me to some directions on how, or give some directions on how?

I have some terminal knowledge, but not very much.

    Thanks!

What exactly are you trying to do using a bin file?

Bin's are used in lotsa different uses.

If you're trying to burn a cd, and it has a bin and cue, you should be able to do it in Toast. Finder might be able to, but I havn't tried.

Some other bins i've come across are gameboy homebrew stuff.

But yea, some ideas in what you wanna use the bin for would help.

I'm kinda leaning towards handheld homebrew if you're mentioning emulators, though there are different type of emulators out there. Not all deal with gaming.

... OREGON TRAIL? I'm playing Oregon Trail - downloaded from the Oregon Trail website.

It's made to run on the older macs - aka not Intel.

It's pretty rude to assume I'm using stolen software...

The easiest way to open Macbinary (.bin) files would be to use Stuffit.

Umm, I found a forum topic here.

Although, I dunno. I looked quickly, and by old macs, do you mean Apple II? cause thats really old.

But assuming you're in the situation I think you are, you need Virtual ][, follow the instructions in the link, and it should work.

But if you arn't, can you link to whatever site you got it from, cause if I can see what files you have/the site, me or other people could help some more.

Yea check out the link, and info in my previous post.

Looks like you need virtual][ as the emulator, and then rename the bin files to .dsk

Open with virtual][, and I'd assume it would work.
