Okay, I basically have a external monitor hooked up via DVI to the macbook pro. In OSX I set it up so that one monitor shows only the wallpaper while the other shows the taskbar. In system preferences, I drag the menubar over to my external monitor. Okay, sweet it works. However, everytime I open a new application or window it opens up on my macbook pro screen. Why does it do this when I set the external monitor as the main screen? Can someone help please? I simply want the macbook pro screen as a screen to have a photoslide show, I dont want my applications opening up on the macbook pro screen and then dragging it to the external monitor screen.
OR I can just put the macbook pro in clamshell mode, but I heard there is no heat circulation or w/e so I dont want to use this option, but if I have to I will.
Thanks a million!

I think the windows open where they were last closed. I have my MSN and browser open on my external monitor. I just dragged them over the first time, and that's also where I closed them. So now they open on my other screen all the time, unless i open them without the external monitor or move them over.

the apps remember what screen they were opened on. after awhile they "should" start opening on the external after being dragged to the other one.
Why don't you want to use the extra real estate of the internal monitor? -
I do want to use the extra real estate, I just dont like how when I open new applications and such, it opens on the macbook pro screen and I have to drag it to the screen in front of me, the external one
