Problems with Safari. This just started a few weeks ago. I keep having compatibility issues with my Hotmail and Safari 3.2.1 (the 4.0 is worse), I can't even open my hotmail messages 4.0. At first I thought it was MSN, so I contacted them. I'm pretty sure it's a browser issue.
It keeps inserting random question mark symbols throughout my outgoing Hotmail messages. I've tried resetting Safari, deleting cookies... blah blah blah.... done all the updates. It's annoying. I like Safari, and want to continue using it. I have Firefox and it works fine. Could my computer have a virus? HELP..... JR
EDIT: I have Camino too, but it won't let me put anything in the "subject line" when composing a new hotmail message. Very annoying.

There has been many issues in the past when Safari 4 Beta was released about the Hotmail, and there hasn't been any updates to my knowledge. I'd stick with FireFox for now, untill there's some issues straightened. There shouldn't be any problem with 3.2.1, unless there are some missing plug-in's. Try a reinstall of Safari all-together from the Apple site, and see if that makes a difference or not.
And no, you don't have a virus.

Hey thanks Colton. I did re-load 3.2.1, and what it's doing is this: When I type a letter to someone in Hotmail, it just randomly inserts ? ? ? ? (question mark symbols) randomly all through the letter. Very ugly, and makes me look like I'm just hitting keys. Very ugly. How can I SCRUB my current version of Safari COMPLETELY out of my computer and start fresh with a fresh copy from the Mac website. I want to TOTALLY remove the current version. Thanks, JR

I don't think you can completely delete Safari off your Macbook Pro, since it's somewhere deep in the files. You could drag it to the trash and empty it, and see if that helps. It's worth a try.
If not, you can download an application called AppCleaner, and that will delete everything associated with Safari off your MBP. I use AppZapper, but it's not a free.

Will AppCleaner affect anything else on my machine?

I use FireFox all the time, and I don't really touch Safari much since I downloaded FF. It's has a whole bunch of plug-in's, and I just like the Mozilla interface. I recommend it as a primary browser.

Okay thanks! Will keep you posted!
