Hey I noticed that my Safari has been really sluggish for the past few weeks. Especially on resource heavy websites. I would get the spinning circle a ton of the time and have to wait a bit before things load.
A few days ago I tried loading a website and it caused my entire machine to freeze and had to manually turn it off.
I did the recent update and it didn't help any.

Often times browser problems are related to plug ins? Flash being the main problem.
Is there any particular website that causes problems or is it all of them? -
For the most part it's flash-heavy/resource heavy websites. Not a specific website but just those in general.

Try clearing all the flash cookies. You can find them here:
~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#SharedObjects
~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/sys/
In those folders you will find a bunch of folders with random letters like VZDJH12G
Delete them all. Note* This will reset any highscores of flash games and any user data for flash.
There is also a tool called Flush that can do the same thing:
Flush.app – Flash Cookie Removal Tool For OS X | MacHacks.TV -
Not sure if you're still having the problem, but do you have AdBlock (the extension, not the SIMBL plugin) installed? That extension has been known to have problems.
It causes Safari to use excessive RAM (more than the usual), and causes spinning beach balls with CPU spikes at times.
If you do not have that extension installed, try performing a full reset of Safari (Safari -> Reset Safari...).
Safari being sluggish?
