    I'd love to know.

And if they are the same, are the only other differences screen size, extra ports and graphics card?

    Thanks!

Yup same cpu, 2.4GHz with 3mb of cache. Only the $2000 15" unibody mbp has a 256mb nvidia 9600m gt card with a better display and speakers.

Don't forget the display quality. The MBP has better blacklevels, contrast and viewing angles than the MB.

Yes, the high-end MacBook (MB467LL/A) & base MacBook Pro (MB470LL/A) both have the same Intel P8600 2.4GHz CPU.

Main differences is that the MBP has got the following:

    1) Larger & better screen (15.4" 1440x900 LED screen)
    2) Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT 256MB Dedicated GPU
    3) Firewire 800 Port
    4) Expresscard/34 Slot

BDronicus, so I assume you're thinking of buying the base MBP?

Naw. Just got the high-end Macbook about a month ago (and freakin' love it!). My friend, however, just bought the base MBP and was telling someone that his had more processing muscle. I said, "I'm not so sure..." but he was pretty confident that he had a better processor. So I went to the website but still wasn't 100% sure, and then decided to defer to the experts - you people.

Now, I will bother my friend incessantly because I was right.

    Whoo hoo!

If you're talking about purely the CPU processing power, both laptops have the same thing.

Apple does not do enough to differentiate the MB from the MBP.

I think all MBP models should come with the 6MB cache processors.

if they had a geforce 9600 i a 13" macbook, I'd have gotten that quickly over my MBP... I hate it being 15", I wanted smaller... at least its smaller than almost all the WinPC 15"ers

that will break Apple design rules: no mac can be thicker than 1 inch.
Your statement is true. I went from a macbook black to a macbook pro unibody and I can fell that is quite a signigicant increase in the size, eventhough they are the same weight.

Windows laptops have Geforce 9500 256MB graphic card on 13" laptops. Some windows 13.3" laptops also have ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MB.
If you're know what to buy, Windows laptops can be thinner or more powerful or more cost effective or look more pleasing to the eye.
