Hey!
I've been through lots of threads and have been accustomed to reading these - Rosetta,Yonah,Santa Rose, and Merom
Although i have a rough idea of what they are could u please explain it better?
I know the Merom refers to the C2D
And Yonah Refers to Core Duo(right?)
Thanks in advance

Yonah is Core Duo, its a 32 bit processor which is technically 64bit but was disabled by a means that we aren't sure of yet, say it physical or not, but most likely physical.
Merom is the new Core 2 Duo processor which is 64bit, and '10-20%' faster at the same speed, but it comes at a price, it consumes more power thus why it has a higher TDP.
Santa Rosa is the new platform thats coming out, it will be designed and geared towards multiple core processors as well as 64bit processors, it's basically putting everything together, and allowing what we have today to be fully taken advantage of, so merom imo is pretty much useless without Santa Rosa. -
whats rosetta then?

Yonah = Core Duo
Merom = Core 2 Duo, essentially a 64-bit version of Core Duo.
Rosetta = An emulator program for the intel-based (x86) mac that'll allow it to run programs designed for the PowerPC processor.
Santa Rosa = A whole new platform for the Core 2 Duo. Unlike current generation technology, Santa Rosa boasts a dynamic FSB of 800 MT/s and new power saving features.
More info can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrino#Santa_Rosa_platform
Hope this helps. -
Just thought I'd chip in that the Core Duo (Yonah) has the 64-Bit disabled physically.
and cy007 you have a copy-cat avatar -
