I've got 2 of these installation disc from my macbook pro (Intel). I don't need them and never will. Do people actually need these kind of things and is it sellable?

I've also got the remote control if it is of any use? Got 2 of these as well. But I assume they are unique and only works with the designated laptop?

The installation disks contain the iLife suite. So, chances are they are quite sellable to people who want to install iLife.
The remote controls are not unique to the notebook. Feel free to sell one if you don't need it.

    The discs contain:
    a) The entire OS, for reinstalling if needed.
    b) The entire iLife suite, for reinstalling if needed.
    c) Various things that were not installed with the OS, such as X11, Xcode and some third-party applications. Also some added drivers and language support files that are excluded from the default install because most people don't need them.
    d) Some utilities such as Apple Hardware Test, password reset utility, Disk Utility (the only way to repair a system volume might be to boot to the OS X install disc and run Disk Utility from there because obviously you can't change a mounted volume).

I'd say you aren't likely to get much for the discs anyway, so they are worth keeping for that reason in addition to the above.

Oh I'll put it on on ebay and give it a try then. My company buys a few macbookpro each month and throw these disk and remote control away. I've threw 1 package away and kept 2 this month. Even got the DVI- > VGA lead.

So I'll give it a try to see if I can sell them rather than throwing them away.

I'm surprised that these remote control are not unique. Maybe one day I'll walk around the office with it :p

The remotes are worthless, you can go into an Apple Store and give them a quick sob story and you will get a new one. The discs are probably also worthless since they only work on Intel (I think) and anyone who has an Intel Mac has OS X discs. There is also a question of legality. It is probably illegal to sell those discs since they would likely be considered an OEM version.

Just don't sell them...and you can also set the remotes to only work on one computer. I forgot how to do that but you can.

Yeah I was worried about it being illegal if I sell them.

Well I guess I'll need to throw them away, since I have abosolute no use of them and they have been lying on my desk for months. Need to clear up my desk for Health and safety checks.
