My sister just bought a MB off of a friend, has MS Office installed but says registered to "previous owner" when opening up Word...

Is there a way to change this without restarting? Can't find the office dvd to reinstall.

It's mac word, excel etc etc... Want to change the "registered details" that pop up when opening because she hates that it doesn't say her name - cos its HER mac :)

well what about the laptop itself. is that under her name? when its set up you gotta like put your name in and all that (i think) so if there's a way to change that, then that might fix it.

On mine only way I was able to fix it was to change owner of machine, then install the office suite over again.

If you bought the computer off someone, did you get the install disc's that came with the software?

Without the original disc's you might not have a valid copy, in that case really you shouldnt have the software.

Besides the fact, it is not possible to change the name, so you have re-install the software.

I had the same problem not too long ago. So i went out and re-installed the disc (to be honest with you i would not pay for this junk software microsoft needs to work on upgrading)
