    1) Bluish tint - anyone else experiencing this?

I tried calibrating my profile so that it'd look a little better but does anyone know whether there are better programs to do this as opposed to by eye? (And are there software other than Apple's own?)

2)Those with the 9CC2 screen - is it just me or has the brightness range narrowed a lot? It seems like at the lowest brightness setting it's still damn bright (and not good for the battery), and Leopard didn't seem to have the same problem.

There is a thread @ Macrumors, in which hundreds of posters share their profiles. I'm using one posted there and find it to substantially superior to Apple's default profile.

If you need a better utility or hardware, you might want to look into owning a Colorvision Spyder or a LaCie Blue Eye.

Personally I use a the Spyder2Express(with unlock to have Spyder2pro features), and it creates custom color profiles for your specific LCD Panel(yes, every screen is different). I'm a graphics designer so using this is essential for me but may not be for everyone.

Apple changed the default gamma setting from 1.8 to 2.2 with the Snow release.

I also use Spyder2Express on all of our lcd's at home (desktop and notebook). Great little tool.

There is a thread on macrumors.com about the 9CC2 screen and increased brightness with SL (or, as you've noted, some issue with the brightness range and that particular screen).
