This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Anyone use Western Digital 2.5" hard drives? At J&R I saw a 320GB for 113 or 130 forgot which one.. I wanted to know if they are reliable? I haven't see any 320GB 2.5" hard drives at all online.... Does anyone know any sites with them? Are all brands reliable? Which brand is better ?

    WD is a big manufacturer of hard drives, they're a reliable brand!

    Seagate and WD are kind of the power houses in hard drives. But I have been very happy with my 2.5" Samsung Spinpoint that came in my notebook. Kind of ironic, since I am doing a co-op with a group of engineers that design the Samsung drives. So if it fails...they are going to catch a ton of flak from me! lol
