Just bought the 13" MBP last Sunday and love it but I wish I could change a few things. First I wish it had a separate audio in and out jack. I do a lot of recording and need to have headphones plugged in while I have my electric guitar plugged in. It seems I have to buy an adapter to do this. Second the speakers on the 13" are both on the right hand side and it makes it sound like it only has mono sound. Third I wish it would have come with a 7200RPM hard drive. I know its cheap to upgrade the HD and I will but wish I could have got it with one.

Hmmm, I just wish it came with a BluRay Writer!! I would have gladly paid the extra!
Looking for an external firewire800 alternative at the mo. -
Ever heard of a test drive before buying a car? it's kind of the same with a laptop. just saying

Im not saying its a bad laptop. The reason I got it was that to me this is the best all around laptop under 14" and I love the design. I have had the MSI wind (tried it then gave to my girlfriend), Alienware M11X (returned it), Asus 1201N (retuned it) and have had a Dell XPS m1210 since 2007 (best laptop I have had until this MacBook Pro). So as you can see I have test drove lots of laptops in the 10-13" market. I should have called the title "Wish list for the 2011 13" MBP". The speakers and HD drive are not that big a deal but the audio port is the only thing that bugs me. Trust me I love this laptop. So for a wish list I would say the new 2011 MBP needs to have a dedicated audio in and out port, i3 or i5 processor and a blue ray drive.

Try using a USB headset to free up the audio jack for whatever you want to use it for. Then set the sound preference panes to direct input and output where you need.
This what I use. Logitech - H530 USB Headset - 981-000195 -
heres wishful thinking. Apple has more or less completly shunned BluRay in favor of iTunes/iStore
for some reason OSX does not even seem to like many external BD writers just to write data and forces me into bootcamp to do it. -
a modern CPU?
not an issue for me, 15inchers are still the best size. -
No chief. You shouldve test driven the macbook pro before buying it. as long as your happy
-
I know what the macbook had and one reason was I wanted to try apple after not having one since 2001. So yes I'm happy. So far after using this macbook pro everyday since Sunday I do love it. The speakers are not a deal breaker seeing as they are still much better then what my dell XPS m1210 had and I can always get a very good 500GB 7200 rpm hard drive for around $70. I found a very good usb audio adapter for $7 that will do what I want so the issues I posted are not deal breakers and I still think this is the best 13" laptop on the market.

To big for me. To me a laptop can not be bigger then 13". The reason why I get a laptop is to be portable. I had a larger laptop once but will never again get one larger then 13". I think 13" is the perfect size.

Yup, its a shame.
I though you could use any external BluRay writer with Toast??
Same - 13" is the perfect size for a laptop for me also. -
it doesnt seem to like my high speed LG and Panasonic writers and creates way too many coffee coasters for my liking. even after 3 clean OS and toast loads.
Somethings I wish the 13" MBP came with
