So next week I'm getting a new cell, the nice and white se w580. Should go nice with my mac. It comes with a 512MB card that I intend to change for a 1GB one. I will mainly use this phone for calls and texting, but it's a walkman phone as well, saw one today and loved how it sounds, how you can shake it to switch a song, etc. So I thought it would be a nice replacement for my 2nd gen shuffle, and I like having less things to carry. I didn't need it to be a great mp3-playing device since I am getting an iPod touch this xmas anyway, but I probably won't have it with me at ALL times, whereas this phone I will. Enough backstory...
I just wanna know how easy it is to transfer songs to the phone with iTunes. Would it recognize the phone? I know I could probably plug it in with the included data cable, and finder would recognize the 2gb card as a removable drive, or just browse it with bt file exchange, but bt would be slow, and both ways I would have to digg through the maze that iTunes creates on it's music folder, it's a lot easier to just drag a playlist.
Anyone with experience, thoughts, links? Thanks![]()

No, I do not believe that iTunes support 3rd party hardware like SE's W580, it's a nice phone. You will probably have to export your iTune library to SE's included software and then sync the songs onto your phone either via the cable attached to the phone or into your memory stick directly.

stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
if you get a card reader, andthen jus plug that in, it should be easy enough. just have itunes and finder open and you should be able to drag songs from itunes into the finder window for the memory card. jus remember it wont read songs downloaded from the itunes store w/o taking the protection off of them first.

iTunes syncs for iPod & iPhone. But you should have already known that.

Yeah I know, but I thought maybe there was a plugin, or something. I'll just do what stealthsniper and jujube suggested.

I just transfer all my music via bluetooth with my Sony Ericsson.

iTunes won't work obviously. My wife has that same phone, and she just drags the files to the phone I believe. It even has a USB cord in the box, so you should not need a card reader.

That must take a assload of time!

yeah, ouch... BT is so SLOW. I can't stand to transfer a few pics from my ENV. ... let alone mp3's.
