Which program do you prefer to use when launching applications?

I think Quicksilver is much faster at finding my apps.

Quicksilver for applications and Spotlight for individual files.

I don't think anyone would say Spotlight. Quicksilver is just so much better at launching.

Have you tried out Quicksilver, and just didn't like it?

Personally I didn't understand it at first, but once I did, I couldn't imagine going back to it.

I tried it briefly, just didn't see the point.
I don't need finder, I've used it 3 times since then. I keep my junk organized.
All my commonly used progs are on my Dock and I have a shortcut to the Apps folder right there (or I use the keyboard shortcut).

Fair enough..... personally the big thing I like about quicksilver is how easy it makes it to string multiple actions together (i.e. start typing to quickly bring up a particular file, then "open with" and then quickly select the app to open it with, or e-mail it to someone, or upload it using Transmit, etc. etc. etc.).

    Yeah, thats nice.
I kind of miss how in windows, when you install certian programs, when you right click on a file that program has added functionality to it.

Yeah, although a nice substitute for that can be Automator actions (either ones you download like at http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/ or ones you make yourself), which you can then access when right clicking on a file. I think I recall some apps that made some use of this (image utilities and such).

Quicksilver is a novelty until you realize it does so much more than launch programs. Then it becomes probably the most used program you have.
