I was wondering if anyone has run Stalker: Call of Pripyat on a macbook pro 13 in OS X and if they could give some feedback on how well it runs (in wineskin I would guess). I know the macbook is not a gaming machine, but all of the games I play are old by at least 3-4 years and I do more videos/music now-a-days which is why i'm considering a macbook pro over the new hp dv6t.

I know people have successfully run the game with Wineskin... there is an older version used to make a wrapper up in the forums at portingteam.com, so I'm sure a slightly newer version that works could be made as well. I have no idea on the performance first hand though, you might search up on all the posts over on the forum there discussing it.

Using Windows 7 and boot camp I ran the game using steam on an older Macbook Pro 13inch (previous generation) and it ran fine on medium-high settings. I would run into some slow down from time to time but it was bearable.

The game lagged on my 4890 @ 1920x1080. It is pretty darn demanding, but you should be able to play @ lower settings

You're better off with Boot Camp.

I just tried STALKER: SOC on my MBA 11 in Windows via Boot Camp. It runs at the native res of 1366x768 with high settings and full dynamic lighting. It stutters momentarily when transitioning between areas (texture load?) but is otherwise smooth. If you drop to medium-ish settings, the stuttering goes away. I was surprised.
