A classmate of mine has a macbook that randomly shuts itself down.
At first I though it was just a matter or power settings because it would shut off after a period of inactive use. But when she said it shuts down when doing work on occasion I was at a lost for ideas.

Anybody have a clue to why this is happening?

    thanks in advance

I had this problem. I sent it in, and they got it back to me in 3 days becuase it was such a common problem. It hasn't done it since.

Thanks for all the help. I told her to contact apple. I don't have much experience with macs so this was a big help. My last mac was from 1995.
