Does anyone know of a program from OSX similar to TVU Player of Sopcast that will allow me to stream television (mostly just soccer games)? I don't want to run either through wine or anything like that.

Depending how involved you want to get, there is a piece of HTPC software called SageTV which will allow you to record/playback television (with the use of a capture card). There is also a piece of software call SageTV Placeshifter which allows you to connect back to your SageTV Server either over your LAN or even out over the Internet.
I'm sure there are cheaper/easier options, but I use SageTV at home for all my Media and love it. -
i dont want to get very involved this is basically for soccer matches that i can never find on tv and the occasional PPV that i cant find the money to pay for (normally i just hit up a sports bar, but that can be quite expensive and distracting).

Hate to say it, but you're probably out of luck unless some kind soul is willing to somehow stream it from their location for you.
As an alternative, depending on the PPV, you might be able to find it on a torrent site. -
i'll just have to go to bar or get my dad to buy one of those illegal satellite things
