Just got a new 2.0 GHZ Macbook. Sometimes when I watch streaming videos, it'll pause every few seconds and have to load. Watching in FF. Is this normal? Anything I can do to fix this?

I also just tried streaming an HD video and it was VERY choppy, and tips there? My internet seems to be alright because I can download movies pretty quickly off of Vuze.

Anything that can be done? Is Apple going to release an update that might fix it?

Have you tried other video streaming sites? It could just be YouTube.....

I've got no issues with streaming HD content. Be it flash or Quicktime. But I do have the 9600M GT.

But guys, try Gametrailers or even Front Row > Trailers to see if it's still choppy or lagging.

If the video pauses every now and then it might just be because of your connection. I see my iStat Menus network bar rise up to 1MB/s (my connection is 20Mbit/s) when I'm streaming HD off Gametrailers, so maybe your connection is not fast enough or something?

Also make sure you get Perian. It's a set of codecs for Quicktime. Maybe that'll help for videos and such.

hmm I watched a trailer in Front Row and it was perfect

Would Perian help streaming videos from all websites? I'll try that if it would.
This is sort of a new problem, I've had it for about a week and it's only the past two days or so.

I have the same issue. Streaming through FF or Safari. However, it does exactly the same thing on my Dell laptop. I think it's a weakness of streaming HD video... at least from youtube. I know it isn't a connectivity issue, because even after the entire video has downloaded, it continues to do it. If I watch other HD content that is already on my hdd, through VLC, it plays fine. <shrug>

hmm alright that's good to know about HD videos

Though I still have problems with non-HD videos, is that a Macbook problem? They'll pause for a few seconds every now and then and seem to have to load, even when the play cursor is behind the loading bar.
