Does anyone know if the discount on Leopard still exists or is it dependent on your school's regulations?

I thought Leopard was $79 with a student discount. When I login under my schools education "site" the price is still $116.

Can anyone explain this to me? Thank you muchly.

It's $110 at Amazon.com and $104 at MacMall. I checked the education discount and is indeed $116

Buying Leopard now may not be the best investment though, with Snow Leopard on the horizon.

Not necessarily. I think you ought to be able to upgrade without having the previous OS. What are you supposed to do if you're several OS's behind? Hunt down all of the previous ones? (Well, not the most valid argument in this case, as SL will only run on intel machines, which have been around since tiger- but you see my point).

Wow, I must have not heard of this yet.

How is Snow Leopard different than Leopard? Do we know anything yet?

How solid is a summer release?
