My Black Macbook of last year December has been great! Really!

    Except for the superdrive. :(

In about November of 2007, my superdrive died and it wouldn't read any of my CDs or DVD's. Whenever I inserted a disk, it would spin for a bit, and then spit it right back out. I contacted Apple, and they replaced it, simple as that. (I actually went to Simply Computing in Vancouver to do that).

However, now it's January, and problems have started up with my superdrive again. Recently, when I insert a disk into it, about 1 out of 2 times, it will make the spinning noise, then pause, then the spinning noise, and then pause, and it repeats over and over again. It will not eject, and so I end up having to turn off the Macbook and hold down my trackbutton key.

However, this doesn't happen everytime. Is it worth going down to have it checked out? It may or may not happen at the computer store, and I don't want to look like an idiot. x) However, it is quite a nuisance to have to restart.

Does the same happen with different types of discs? If it does, then it's time to send it back once more.

Maybe you are using a crappy disc brand.

I think you should bring it to the store and bring multiple discs with you... just to show that it does that. You said it happens 1/2 of the time... so chances are, it will happen at the store if you bring multiple discs.
