Yeah... It sucks that you can't get this deal shipped. There's a micro center near me, but I'm not sure if I want a MB. I'm really liking the MBP with the alluminum case and nicer screen

Should I suffer and go for this deal or get a MBP? $799 is a pretty sweet deal. Advice?

I am fairly sure this is only through a mail in rebate too, making it less of a deal to me.

Correct me if i'm wrong but the regular MBs aren't being refreshed, so $799 is a hell of a deal.
No MIRs involved. This is straight up $799 + tax at MicroCenter B&M. I've bought two.

Well they told me at the store here it was through a Mail-in Rebate or I would have bought one too.

There is no mail-in rebate what so ever since February of 2010.
It used to be $200 rebate but now is instant saving of $200

Lame, no shipping! But meh, $799 and tax, and few crucial accessories quickly brings the price back up to retail... Im not saying it a bad deal, but if you were not about to by one at full price, this is not going to win many over.

I saw that, what a deal!

Microcenter in my area sold 6 of them overnight. There were 138 in stock here last night when I went to bad (3am) and now there are 132 (12:30pm) :D

If they still have one in stock in a couple of weeks at this price, it may be my new 'netbook'.. can't get one just yet, just ordered a new Asus N71JQ-X1 for my main rig.

Hopefully clearing out stock to prep for impending Macbook updates. I'd wait until the pulling the trigger on any Apple portables.

The MBP's would probably get the updates but most likely the MB will wait until Sept/Oct like they normally do to get the update.

Macbook isn't getting any update until Fall :p...
Haven't you notice that MicroCenter been doing this for a few months already? It used to be rebates first, now they turned into Instant Saving. You should notice that MicroCenter restocks Macbook around 1-2 weeks depending on how many left they have in stock at the store. For example,in Santa Clara, the Macbook was nearly down to 10 at the end of February 23-25 (not sure which date I check), by the end of the month around the 27-28, they restocked a lot.
