Yes, as I've seen lots of people do complain, I've never seen a thread where everybody goes "Yeah, I'm having no problems with mine!".

So there we go, I'll start it off:

My Macbook Pro is great, no issues at all. No yellowing on the screen, no screwy lid problems, it's very cool (as I've read some ridiculous temps around the forums), it boots into Windows, I've had NO ISSUES at all since I bought it in July.

Leopard made it snappier, and it all works really fast now!

    Yay, next...

    :D

My MacBook is great, no issues either. I've been using it since May, so nearly half a year. Screen is nice, keyboard is nice, there is some wear on the trackpad but that's my own fault :p. I love my Mac!

Too bad I'm always broke though; Leopard + 2 GB of RAM would be nice.

LCD has a kinda visible vertical dimness area roughly 5 inches wide top to bottom on the left side until the screen gets warmed up, maybe 5 minutes. Then everything is fine after that.

no issues here, the only issue I ever had is a somewhat noisy power adapter, which was promptly replaced.

I have really been loving this thing since I got it,

Leopard is fantastic, all the hardware is extremely efficient.

I will have a full review up of my MBP coming fairly soon, I have a lot of experience with these 17" desktop replacements and doing reviews now so it should be pretty good.

I am new to the apple arena but can honestly say I think im in love with my new macbook pro. Everything from day one has been smooth sailing so far. The computer is so sleek and sexy as well. Leopard seems so much better then my xp and ubuntu days. I think if my wife wouldnt get mad id have it in the bed with me as well.

I have my MBP since Sept. Zero problem.
Sometimes I am amazed on how well things work in OSX, i.e Handbrake, VisualHub, TVShows, MetaX, Time Machine etc.

My Macbook Pro has been good although i have had a few issues:

-crashed while trying to wake up a few times
-gets extremely hot when on the power adapter
-slight problem with the mouse/pointer (would like feedback)

My MBP is pretty much perfect,
Week 39, LG screen, chassis is perfect

The only complaint is the squeaky space bar when you press it at the ends. Pretty minor.

Put it up on an angle today for playing games in bootcamp (CS:S, HL2:ep2, Bioshock) and it seems to run a bit cooler, fan can suck air better from the back/bottom.

I have a macbook 2.0ghz and 1 gb of ram.

I had some issues with my speaker and a screen flicker. Apple fixed them and it has sense been 100%. I really like it and for what it is works perfect :)

    I love geek humour... LOL.

I've had my MB for a couple of days now... love it so far! Great screen, Leopard is fantastic (although I've never used Tiger...) and although it's made out of plastic, it's absolutely stunning.

My MBP has been perfect, too, but in fairness, this isn't my first Mac, and not every machine has been quite as good as this one. Luckily, though, with every problem (usually minor) Apple's service has been nearly perfect, and I'm a very happy customer.

Tell cashmonee about it...I think he's currently on his 5th MBP :p. The previous 4 all had issues, but at least Apple was really nice and good about it and even upgraded him to a newly-released (back then) Core 2 Duo (he had a Core Duo machine before).

Other than having to replace the keyboard which just randomly died at a very inconvenient time, I've had no issues so far. When I first got my mbp, I was concerned about the screen issues but I have no yellow tint, zero dead pixels, and the backlighting is very even.

Well, you can take your Apple product to an Apple Authorizer Service Provider (most boutique Mac resellers (so I mean dedicated Mac stores, not Best Buy :p) are Authorized Service Providers), or they will send you a box and you put the product in the box and send it to Apple, and they'll repair/diagnose it there. They pay for postage.

You're in Palm Springs? Forget the new tires - just trade in the Bentley for a new Mercedes, the insurance premium will go down; you'll be good to go with the new MBP. :D

18th times a charm for me I guess. After going through 18 Macbook Pros within the past 3 weeks I settled on a 17" model and all is well. Perfect screen and no problems :)

Thats correct. Actually I had 17 (15.4" Macbook Pros) all of which had problems. My lucky number 18 is a 17" model.

The Apple store did, and it was quite a hassle for myself as well as them. I cleaned out their entire stock of 15.4" glossy Macbook Pros on two occasions.

Did you pay the difference, or did you get the 17" because of your "trouble"?

Well after going through so many, and seeing as they had no more in stock. The Apple store manager came over and wanted to see exactly why I had gone through so many. He was hovering around and acting like a complete douche picking at me with little snippits questioning when he would be able to see the "defect/problem."

So I opened the last 15.4" notebook; registered, logged in and then ran my test image and showed him. He was a bit awe struck and was very interested and understanding as soon as he saw it for himself....the yellowing screen problem. So he apologized for my trouble.

I then asked "well seeing as I've gone through 17 of these would it be possible to just pay the difference and get a 17" model with the older CCFL backlighting as I doubt there will be an issue with those LCDs."

He was like "well I'll tell you what seeing as you showed me the defect and I see it, I acknowledge the fact that it does infact exist, we'll take a hit on the difference, but don't tell anyone about the issue."

So I guess I'm telling people because I don't want them to go through all the hassle I did. It's by no means a free ride/upgrade to a 17" model, not by any means.

I had to email Steve Jobs, get to his executive consumer affairs department and be given a case number. Then drive collectively about 400 miles and spend about 28 hours of my time to deal with this. Lets face it, after spending $2,650 on a laptop a person shouldn't have to deal with something like that. So all in all it was the decent thing to do on Apple part. The executive consumer affairs women was not helpful at all besides giving me a case number I was suprised. She didn't know anything and didn't care to.

The Apple store employees were all very understanding and tried to help me as best they could. Which was to keep exchanging it until I found a system without the defect. Turns out that was the first 17" system I opened.

So, in short yes they as you say Ken Wind gave it to me for my trouble (without quotes.)

Yeah, I remember reading part of the thread in which you wrote about this. I wholeheartedly agree that "after spending $2,650 on a laptop a person shouldn't have to deal with something like that". Allowing you to open 17 Macbook Pros is ridiculous though. Most companies, especially computer companies, would not have let you do this. I'm wondering why you would even bother. After four or five didn't you think, "Hey, all of them are like this. I need something else". You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble.

Yes well as I said the Apple executive consumer affairs women was not helpful at all. She gave me two options:

1.) Wait and send it in for repairs, probably get another messed up screen and risk additional damage by having it shipped and taken apart.

    or

2.) Go back to the Apple store and open them till I find one without the problem which is what I did.

I couldn't at the time really afford an additional $350 for the 17" so that was my only option.
