Hello all, I realize that this has probably been asked a lot here, but today I bumped into a friend who I hadn't seen in a long time. She bought 2x1 1gb kingston value ram for her notebook, and the same day her dad bought her 2x2 gb ram. Anyway, she's giving me a really good price (in venezuelan standards at least) for the 1gb pair. I said ok but I didn't have the money at hand so I said to wait til tomorrow... now I am coming upon all these topics accross some forums that that type of ram is kinda hit or miss, and kingston has specific mac ram sticks, with model numbers that begin in KTA.

It's weird cause they both have the same specs. Anyway just wondering if it's good enough. I mean if it doesn't work I can give it back to her and she will give me back my money, but I'd rather save myself the trouble of trial and error.

So should I go for it? I should note that normal kingston ram costs upwards of 180 dollars here (at the current conversion rate), for just 1gb. She is selling both 1gb sticks to me for the same price.

Same specs don't worry go for it! The difference between Mac and PC RAM is the package.
