For 10+ years Apple has produced failure after failure - and never had to pay the consequences. It's time that changed.

He forgot the one in the 2012 Macbook Pro 13 where the hard drive cable rubs on the chassis eventually causing it to fail because the insulation between the wires and the chassis gets worn away causing the drive to become unreadable.

A friend had a MBP 2011 15" that of course had the failed video card. she took it to the apple store to have it replaced, but they disqualified her from the replacement program because she had a dent in the case near the power jack. Amazing

To be honest I feel like a lot of this just shows that good customer support can make up for a lot of faults... Most people I know with Macbooks would never even remotely considering switching because of any failures on Apple's part. If you're in warranty fixing it is as painless as it gets. Wish other companies would do something similar. Sure there are bad experiences like the one above, but mostly it's fast and free.

Wrong, the cable issue is on the models from 2009 - 2012. Not only 2012.

So this was a 24 minutes rant on apple, I could do the same with Dell and I'm sure others could on just about any computer manufacturer out there.

And I really liked the capacitor replacement job around the 10 minutes mark...

Certainly. Dell cannot be excused for the giant screw up they have made with every Alienware notebook made from 2015 onwards. They had to gall to tell me that 95 degrees Celsius on the CPU is an "acceptable temperature". Apple makes itself an easy target however because of how full of themselves they are, and the cult following they have. Other notebooks at that price point have problems surely, but the userbase/market footprint is so much smaller

I have a mid-2012 MBPro and It's running great; however, I have upgraded the RAM to 16GB and added two SSDs in Raid 0, but otherwise no issues besides hardware ones :(

Apple knew iPhone 6, 6 Plus could bend more easily ahead of launch

Apple knew the iPhone 6, 6 Plus were more susceptible to bending. (Source: Apple)
According to court documents filed in a lawsuit against the company, Apple knew its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models were more prone to bending than previous iPhones. Internal Apple documents referenced by the judge acting in the case reveal that Apple engineers were concerned about the issue ahead of its launch.
    by Sanjiv Sathiah, 2018/05/26

A lawsuit targeting Apple over the infamous "Touch Disease" plaguing the initial batches of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has apparently revealed that "Bendgate," as it was called at the time, was also very real. When reports started surfacing that iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were complaining that their devices bending out of shape, Apple responded with a PR stunt, inviting The Verge into its testing facilities to show how robust its processes were. Court documents now reveal that, behind this public facade, Apple knew all along that its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were more prone to bending. This was also at the heart of the "Touch Disease" issue as well, reports Motherboard. @Phoenix Have you ever had Apples... Banana Phone?o_O I can't bend my 4" Applephone:eek:

I do that a lot. There are many motherboards with failing capacitors, Mostly ASUS comes through my place. I just find the culprit and change em out.
