i know it just came out and havent been able to google any good reviews on it. Can any of you comment on it? I would just get the MB but its only $150 more for the Pro and it has 4GB installed ram (with max of 8GB) vs the MB Im looking at with 2GB (max 4GB).

Well it's a bit subjective to ask if it's "worth it". Compared to the MB it's definitely worth it. I'm sure you will get some snarky comments saying no Mac is worth it's price though.

    Ok easy dawg.

Can anyone comment on the build quality for the keyboard on the MBP? Is there any flex like on previous MBs?

And also to hook up MBP to ext tv (LCD), do we still need mini-DVI to VGA adaptor?

    Short answer: Get the Pro.

If anyone has walked into a store, used the MB and MBP ... And walked away with the MB ... That person has issues.

flex? have you ever used a keyboard on one of the unibodies? they are nothing like the ones earlier.... no there is no flex...

the ports used are Mini DisplayPort... since there are very few monitors that can use that, yes you have to have an adapter for most things... adapter to go to VGA or DVI or HDMI.

When you say unibodies im guessing you mean the latest gen MBPs? The aluminum bodies? And how does apple manage to have flexless keyboards? pretty impressive if you ask me.

Like doh123 said, there is no flex. This was my first mbp with the aluminum unibody and its like nothing I have every tried before. Its that good.

I decided to pick up the MBP 13 inch today to replace my out-of-commission MBP 15 inch (2007 edition). Here's my initial prognosis on it after only having it for 3 hours now: it's Great.

Here's my intial thoughts on it:

    1. The keyboard is awesome. The 2007 MBP's keyboard was so-so for me, and had a little flex. The 2010 MBP Unibody's keyboard is perfect.

    2. CPU power is the tried and true Core 2 Duo, but Apple doesn't have the 13-inch with the Core-i5 chips... still, it suits my needs perfectly. I don't do any video rendering or anything serious like that so no biggie.

    3. The screen is very nice. It's glass though, whereas my old MBP was matte, so I know it will have glare issues outside. Indoors though its very good.

More to come in the next few months, but so far I like it. Once I get all my app's re-installed and my daily routines kick in on it then I'll give a followup.

unibody is the form they went to in late 2008, where the majority of the main part of the computer is machined from a single block of aluminum. It includes have holes cut through it for the keys to pop out... so its not like a separate keyboard attached to the unit.

Apple - MacBook Pro - Design - The breakthrough aluminum unibody.

watch the video there.. its pretty good
