No, there's no real doom, but the prospect should be appealing.

Anyway, here's my current setup, though the MacBook Air will leave me in about 6 weeks *sniff*.

I have to say, I wish the MacBook Air was mine... Really the only thing expensive other than my MBP is the Apple display. Doesn't really make me loaded. :)

That's a great gift, I wish I could get one for my dad. BTW, when you buy someone a gift, don't you keep it sealed until you give it to them instead of playing around with it :p? I'd probably play around with it, too though ;). lol

I guess I should clarify. It's for my dad who's actually paying for it, so it's a gift in the sense that I'm saving my dad a ton of money since the UK price is outrageous compared to the US. I opened it to make sure it's working etc, and to write a review, since it would suck to bring it to the UK without making sure it works first! :)

I'm pretty sure you'll need to buy the international $20-$40 AC adapter from Apple to get it to charge optimally in the UK.

I'm on visit from Niecy away from being able to post my pics :D Basically it's a Macbook on a roll top desk with enough clutter to prevent closing the roll top. I've been thinking about adding a larger display but I still want to be able to close the roll top (someday perhaps).

Kaushal, is the screen on your Vaio really that much brighter than the Macbook's, or is that just a trick of the camera?

Wow you guys :p. Fancy setups!

    Mine is pretty boring:

2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo (November 2006 edition) Apple MacBook
    Some basic Logitech mouse
Crappy Acer speakers (came with the desktop my dad bought)
    8 GB iPod Touch
    iPod Dock

    How I got them:

MacBook: won as a prize from Apple
    Logitech mouse: old spare mouse
    Acer speakers: explained above
    iPod Dock: borrowed from friend

So the only thing in my setup that I personally bought was the 8 GB iPod Touch, at $250 in Hong Kong.

What would be nice to add to my setup:

    22-inch Dell SP2208WFP display
    Logitech VX Revolution
    Mac OS X Leopard

    But I can't afford them :p.

Awesome. It's funny how some of our setups are all "pro" like, and devoid of any atmosphere. That's kind of how I feel about my computer desk. Others, like Sam's and yours, feel so organic. Just...real!
