Since I have stated in the previous thread about how I don't like the new unibody MBP. Now I would like to tell you what I do like about Mac.

    1) Stability, yes it crashes, but not nearly as often and it usually doesn't bring down the whole system.
    2) Viruses, yes there are some viruses for Mac, but not nearly as many. I enjoy the security. I am still careful, but it definitely less annoying than window.
    3) OS X UI, it is just awesome and simple to use and I love it. OS X is also just pretty and the way it does thing is pretty eloquent.
    4) Mac overall design, it is just ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing. They do little things right, like the power adapter, the lid up keyboard, etc. It is just a little things that add up into a big package.
    5) I feel that OS X in general run things faster than window with an exception of Microsoft Office.
    6) OS X has more features that I actually use and it feels more complete than window. It has more useful program. The fact that it has a built in PDF reader is nice(one of the many example).
    7) I love Time Machine. I used Ghost before, but I love TM, it works and it works well. I can easily transfer data from my old MBP to the new one with TM and that is just awesome.

I know that I complained a lot about the new MBP, but I still prefer it over its window counterparts.

You forgot to mention the sound it makes when you adjust volume, that is by far one of my favorite features.

As I have said many little things. :D All of them add up to one nice computer.

you can turn it off in the sound preference i think.

my most favourite feature would have been.

    -blazing fast power up/power down.
    -reliable sleep.
-battery life (yes this is because the os).

the only weakness is the somewhat unreliable hardware i think. the percentage of defected part and/or unreliable design/material, is unacceptable. hmmm, maybe they also needs to improve the finder.

I have to say I agree with powering down. It is so fast that it is crazy. Powering up is faster than window, but not so noticeable as the powering down.

    Battery life, hell yeah!!!

Out of interest, what do you do to "crash" your mac? I have never seen a Mac crash. Mine's been 100% perfectly solid

I think he was referring to programs crashing since he said "doesn't bring the whole system down." Programs crash for me every once in a while and I even had a connection problem where if I tried to connect to an 802.1x network the network preferences would freeze up.

I have clocked OS X and Windows 7 start-up times and the differences are minimal. Where OS X is exponentially faster is shut down time. I press shut down and this thing is off before I can shut the lid.

The thing I like the most though is the ambient light sensor and the backlit keyboard with a heavy emphasis on the backlit keyboard.

I forgot to mention the ambient light sensor, I also think that it is neat as hell.

Yes, tayb that is what I mean.

All computers crash, it is just the fact of life. Even the most stable NASA Unix supercomputer can crash, why can't a MBP do?

It crashed when I try to read a VCD movie disk that has some scratches in them. Sometime that will hang up the program, but will not bring down the whole OS due to the good multitasking management of unix.

I also like the convience of changing out the HDD and battery in the new MB's and MBP's. The built-in iSight that you can barely see is also pretty neat. The battery latch is really cool. Expose and Spaces are awesome! :D

Only time will tell. It is much much faster than Vista ever was but I haven't had it on a machine long enough and accumulated enough to crap yet to possibly slow it down. Only things I have on here is the Windows Live package, Mass Effect, Portal, a couple of compilers, and Office Enterprise '07.

Shut down time is still no contest though, Windows 7 takes quite a bit longer.
