I just turned my macbook on today to find that there is a green light next to my webcam, does it mean that it's on? also one more question, I don't know how to access my webcam to turn it off/on.
If someone could give me a hand that would be greatly appreciated![]()

Yes, the webcam is on when the green light is on
. It normally should just be off, unless you have an application that is using it (Front Row, iMovie to record, etc.).

How do I turn it off? it doesn't seem like any programs I'm running at the moment could have it turned on? (Safari, Finder and MSN)

Hmm, and the light is on?
That's weird. Maybe try restarting the Mac, see if that will kill it. -
Doesn't turn off, I even went into image capture.app and it says no camera connected?

Take a look and see if this link helps troubleshoot your problem...it seems similar to yours

That happened to me before... I turn on my MB and the light would be on; the camera wouldn't work in Photo Booth though.
I restarted and it went away. Go figure. -
Okay I fixed it, for anyone who was wondering. I turned my macbook off, removed the battery and held the power button for 5 seconds and placed the battery back and that fixed it
Thanks Sam for the link -
Wouldn't just a normal restart do the trick as well?

Glad to hear you solved the problem, Bwen! Happy to help out

I had the same problem awhile ago. I just restarted my macbook and it was off when my macbook turned back on.
