    So it's finally official, I'm so relieved.

    I have a question though: based on previous notebook events, how long is the time between the actual announcement and the availability of the laptops?

    Meaning, once the new Macbooks are announced on the 14th, when can I expect to be able to pick them up in an Apple store?

    A few days at most would be my guess. Apple likes to announce things and sell them right away.

    Whenever they do come in, I'd think you'd want to get there early, cause they may sell out.

    Also just incase you didnt know, if apple continues the way theyve done business in the past, if you want to customize the laptop (other then matte or glossy screen), you'll have to do it online, and not in store.

    I wouldn't think so, but what might happen is a bit of a delay in shipping due to high demand. (All those NBR folks that have been sitting on wads of cash you know. ;) )

    Nice! Can't wait to see what it will be. Sadly, it won't be what I really want: a headless iMac or a beefed up Mac-Mini. But... Apple has surprised us before with the MacBook Air.

    My hope is for an OSX based netbook...even if it tipped the scales at $500-600 I'd probably take the plunge on one. But I'm not holding my breath on that account.

    It's not a stupid question :p On WWDC 2008 and the Sept. 9th event, none of them had live streams, though, WWDC DID have an audio stream, but I think the people streaming it were taking a big risk. Though, blogs like Engadget and Gizmodo have live text streams, you just need to keep reloading the page :p.

    Audio stream sucks, once Steve flips the slid everyone screams and you can't hear what he says. Usually because it's a crappy mic. I find the best and just IRC chat's with live updates or sites.

    About flipping time Apple!! Sheesh. I'm soooooo buying one next month as long as they don't have an nvidia chipset. Here's hoping for a "pure" montevina chipset in the macbooks.

    I know that Mac-Mini's are not notebooks, but they are made with notebook components. Anyone think the Mac Mini will get a much needed upgrade (and price drop :D)? I'd like to put a Mac Mini in my living room attached to the TV.
