How do I get rid of the notification on the upper right hand corner of the screen every time someone IM's me or signs on?

Thanks in advance
Never mind, I found out this is in "Growl" so there are a bunch of setting there.
There are so many customizable things it's ridiculous.
Does anyone know where the "Transcripts" are saved to?

Try Adium > Preferences > General > and uncheck the "Create new chats in tabs" box, and it should fix your problem. I just downloaded Adium, so I'm still learning it as it is.
EDIT: I found the solution. Try Adium > Preferences > Advanced > and uncheck the "show contact information tooltip" box. That worked for me.

Yeah, I just did that too.
Growl seemed to have originally fixed it for me in System Preferences.
Adium is the best IM client though... -
I'm glad you were able to fix it!
I looked at Growl, and I flipped some things around in there, and it seemed to work both ways.

If by transcripts you mean chat logs then they're under >Library>Application Support>Adium 2.0>Users>Default>Logs>[Account Folders]>[Contact Names]
At least that's what mine is. I only have my accounts set up to use Adium, I'm not sure what it would look like if you have multiple users. I'm assuming it would just create separate account folders. -
how do i make it show in the actual OS X?
like, i saw on my university's computer showing that when i finished downloading a file on firefox.
is there a way to enable it? -
Do you have Growl installed?
-

I used to think that too, but I've switched to aMSN and like it much better.

aMSN is slow on my mac. The java implementation is poor.
Those using Adium...
