Okay, I switched to Thunderbird...not because Mail sucks at IMAP (although it may)...but because it simply can't authenticate my IMAP smtp server, and I don't feel like using an alternate server to send my messages.
Anyway, here's my issue:
I have 3 gmail accounts (pop3) and 1 imap account.
I want "get mail" to check all 4 accounts at once. How do I do this in Thunderbird?
Also, how do I make new messages always pop up in a new tab instead of a new window when I doubleclick them?

From the Mozilla website:
Re: Checking All Accounts Simultaneously
Re: Opening Mail Links In New Tabs
I understand these might not completely answers your questions....
Also, next time, I suggest posting such questions in the Software board.

Hrm, well I'm more looking for a way to check all account when I click the button manually (and not have to scroll down the list to "check all accounts")...
I'm not looking to open links actually. Newer builds of Thunderbird allow you to open mail messages as tabs within Thunderbird (i.e. 10 messages open, 10 tabs). However, this option is not bound to enter or double-clicking the message...you have to right-click it and select "open as tab" (it's actually heavily in development - the latest nightly for example, crashes when you use this feature).
There isn't a software board on this forum unfortunately - just a "Windows software" board. I figured I'd post it in the Apple hardware/software board first, and then post it there if I don't get any luck here instead of double-posting all at once.
Thanks for the suggestions though

Hmm... try Ctrl + Click. This opens links in new tabs, so I'm hoping it opens mail in new tabs.
Also, the Windows Software board is basically treated as just a Software board... honestly, I think we should separate the two. In fact, I think I'll make a thread about it in the Suggestions board...

Another question!
Is there a way to get thunderbird to use OSX's Address Book and iCal by default?
