    Time Machine Backup and external HDD question.

    From what I know I dont think you can delete "1" of them. There is one big main file and then there are supplement files that are the "newer" files that are updated on a daily basis. I think if you just want one back up file you would have to delete all the time machine profiles there and then just re backup and then after that is done turn off time machine so it does not back up again.

    yeap that is pretty much correct. You cant just delete things... but TM will actually do this for you when its running low on disk space anyways. Otherwise your only other option is to exclude folders from the backup.

    If the disk becomes too full the Time Machine will begin backing up over older images on the disk... But you cannot remove a single file from the Time Machine back up.. you remove one = remove the whole image.
