Timing for LED on 17" MBP?

Any idea when the 17" MBP will see a new LED screen like the 15" MBP?

 

before the macbook gets them.

 

I would disagree; I'd say the Macbook will get an LED screen first. 13.3" LED screens have been in mass production for a while. I haven't seen anybody that has 17" screens in production.

 

Its not going to be for a while, the MB will get them first definitely, since there are two other manufacturers using 13" LED backlit screens (Sony [SZ Premium] and Asus [U3S]). Although, it maybe at the same time as the MB...Apple did have to order the 15.4" LED screens for the MBP, so they probably will do the same for the 17" as well. I think it might be nice if they did it all in one event in October, with the updated Santa Rosa (maybe LED) MB, 17" LED MBP, and OS X Lepoard. Of course, a 6G iPod video wouldn't hurt either, but thats getting into dream-stages

As much as we'd like it to happen , it probably won't. Apple likes to spread its announcements over time so all products get media attention. If Apple released so much stuff in one event all the media would cover was Leopard, and the other news would be lost in all the craze. Similar to Macworld 2008; everyone basically forgot about the Apple TV after hearing about the iPhone.

I'd expect a MacBook update in October along with Leopard, and maybe some sort of 17-inch LED MBP in November or later, but it wouldn't be an event, just an announcement on the website.

There's most likely an iPod event next month (September).

 

Somehow, I managed to forget the only one that I am interested in purchasing...

And has a media event next month been confirmed, or is that just a rumour? I think the next iPod is going to be at MacWorld 08....

 

No confirmation, but people would jumping around in anger and frustration if the next iPods weren't out until Macworld 2008 . But lots of rumours of production beginning, leaked iPod videos are all pointing to a September event.
