I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware issue.
If I double-click on a folder, it works. However, if I don't touch the trackpad and double-click the next folder that shows up under the mouse in the folder I just entered, it doesn't work. I have to either wait several seconds or move the mouse using the trackpad a bit and *then* double-click. It's really annoying.

I'm not sure why that's happening...
Instead of using the button you can enable tap-clicking on the trackpad (System Preferences --> Keyboard & Mouse --> Trackpad). Just check the "Clicking" box. -
Not only do I loathe tapping the trackpad to click, that doesn't even fix the problem.
Can you try it out? Double-click, for example, the "iTunes" folder and then immediately double-click the icon that appears, whether it's a folder or a file. It won't work for me unless I wait an absurd amount of time or move the mouse a bit. -
I tried it already. That doesn't happen to me. Sorry
. If I find someone with a similar problem/solution I'll be sure to let you know. Chances are someone here on NBR will know what's going on.
Peace.
EDIT: All I've found so far was this article that says this:
-
The trackpad itself is not the issue. The button is.
-
The wait time for me is less than a second, no special settings
-
If I double-click too early, that wait time apparently resets. It's really annoying.
Trackpad button is really annoying.
