This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Installation looks somewhat more tedious compared with BootCamp. I don't think users will see the benefit of having Linux on their notebooks alongside XP and OS X (Linux has almost no compatability with any software), so this idea will probably be popular only among Linux users.

    On that I can certainly agree. I also agree that most people won't see much value in it, but I think a lot of people in what I refer to as the "Slashdot" crowd will probably jump at the chance to try it, just because they can.

    Well, there's a lot of open source software that can be built for Linux, 'Doze and OSX, so I suppose there's some synergy there, especially for developers of such software who want to make sure it runs on all three of these platforms. But yeah, I guess that's kind of the /. crowd.
