Okay this is ridiculous. I've had my macbook pro for a month and have 9 charge cycles on it, I mostly run off AC power (not good I know) but I freaking have an 88% health rating. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I think I'm going to full discharge this time so... maybe that'll help?

What are you using to read your health rating (or does apple have its own program for that)?
Programs that give you those ratings (like NHC) aren't all that accurate. Was your rating higher when you first got it and is it decreasing very fast or has it always been about the same? It might just need to be calibrated or you might have a bad battery.

Calibrate your battery and see what happens.
You can also have a look at the Battery Guide if you didn't already.

yea try calibrating it b4 you loose any sleep over it. and dont worry about running mostly off AC power, your batter wont overcharge itself.

The Mac knows not to "overcharge". It does not begin charging the battery until you drop below 96% charge.

Calibrate the battery first ( http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86284), and then tell us the battery health then.

But if after calibrating and it still is below 90% battery health, and only 9 cycles, then contact Apple; its a defective battery and will be replaced.
