    its easily circumvented if the thief knows anything about computers, especially macs.

    If you have no password for open firmware, its REALLY simple. just pop in an osx install disc, and format.

    open firmware password protection on? cant reformat without the password? sure you can.

    First turn off the mac, and change the amount of ram either by taking away or adding a stick. Turn on the mac, holding command-option-P-R to reset PRAM. Once done, boot into open firmware (command-option-O-F), and run set-defaults. Finally, run reset-all, and you'll be good to go with no more password on OF.

    and lastly the simplest way this software can be found hiding, is by installing liitle snitch.

    dont buy it. buy a lock, and take better care of your stuff.
