    So the sound of my CD drive has started to bother me, I don't know if this is what slot loading CD drives sound like or not. So I made a video

    Mine sounds like that too after a month. Mine also scratches cd's or dvd's if left in the the drive. I plan on having it fixed as soon as I get some free time.

    Okay, so it seems like that's what this CD drive sounds like. I was just afraid that it was defective.

    wahgnube It's a fairly loud sound, you can easily hear it sitting a couple feet away.

    It's very difficult to gauge the volume and sound from a film like this: the whole sequence sounds amplified (i mean, i usually don't get that close to the drive to hear what's going on). However, it sounds like mine, and given the consensus so far here, I guess that means fine...

    ...phew.

    Well it's not really how loud it is but the sound it's making, but seems like they are all like that so, I guess it's fine.
