I received MS Office 2011 for Christmas.
I have Office 2008 installed on my MBP 13
I presume that when I install office 2011, it will prompt me as to whether I want to keep 2008 alongside 2011 or replace it.
Is this correct?
If so, which is cleaner, to uninstall office myself, or to let MS Office 2011 do the job?

When I installed Office 11 on my computer it never asked me to erase 08, so I have both 11 and 08 atm.
I know 08 has its own uninstaller so you might use that. -
Odin,
Did you find any compelling reason to keep 08?
I kept an earlier version of Office when I upgraded a Windows machine, and I have come to regret it. Every time I launch one, when I have used the other just previously, each has to go through a 10 second or so "self configuration" before opening.
Is there any such "bumping of heads" on a Mac? -
Well I just opened Word 08. 19.56 seconds to open. Quit it, and opened Word 11. 7.92 seconds to open.
Powerpoint took 4.8 seconds on 08 and only 1.06 on 11.
Granted I just opened then quit the program. I haven't used 08 much, or 11 either, as I at this moment have no real use for them. I do like the presentation of 11 better. -
It wont conflict with 08.
08 has its own uninstaller to remove it.
2011 is like a completely separate package installed into its own folder.
Although 2011 is much better then 2008, so not sure why you would want to keep 2008 anyway?
The below video may help you a little.....

I just got Office 2011 too...it is leaps and bounds better than 2008. Much more like the Windows version (if that's a good thing
). I uninstalled 2008 and see no reason to want/need to go back.
