I figured I'd post an updated post as on my last one suggested I may return my MBP 13".
I have since decided to keep it. After having more time to play around with it and experiment with trial software I have become more adjusted to this laptop. I still have a company owned HP EliteBook with i7 cpu and I can't notice a difference to the Apple i5. I would actually say the MBP is faster but only guessing and it's new.
Previous Dislikes:
- seems awkward or slippery when on lap, like its going to fall off
Fix: Purchase an InCase case. This is a great case, great feel to it and takes away that slippery feeling. I was worried it would scratch the MBP based on reviews but I'll take my chances, I would think it's going to get some scratches without it anyway
- I heard good things about the track pad but I think I preferred having the buttons seperate from the pad on the HP
Fix: Practice, now prefer it
- accounting software for business is rare for the Mac and what is available is so expensive it makes you walk weird
Fix: it is rare for Canada but I am deciding between MoneyWorks and AccountEdge, both look good
- looked for a hard case to cover the Mac and every case I have found has reviews indicating they scratch the aluminum
Fix: As mentioned above, I'll take my chances with a case
- Outlook appears to be a much better for mail
Fix: My complaint was that Outlook for Windows was better and more stable compared to Mac version. In the end I am not going to use Outlook on the MBP, easy fix I guess. I am using Daylite crm which works great with mac mail
I was frustrated and worried I made a mistake with this purchase but I am happy with my decision to keep it. It really was not much more money that a Lenovo T series at least when I priced them in Canada. When you take into consideration how much the Apple products hold their value you have to ask yourself are they really more expensive?
Also, in regards to my complaints regarding software, there really aren't many options when it comes to business related software, this is fact but the software designed for Mac seems to work great so you don't need endless amount of options.

So you managed to completely change your perception of a product within the period of a week or two? Why does this sound so familiar?
-
Obviously bought it because my preception of the product was good, that it would suit my business needs. I explained my solutions to the issues I was having.
My original post was to reach out to any business users of Mac, was hoping not to get the usually comments I read from mac users that are concerned about how it functions for video games.
I posted my result to help anyone else that might be in a similiar situation -

You made an initial post saying you were going to return your MBP only three days ago, it became a heated debate, the thread was closed, and you somehow managed to change your mind in that three day time period. That is how it compares to the link I gave you where that "noob" purchased an iPad 2, returned it for a PlayBook, and ended up returning that for another iPad 2 all within an extremely short time period.
It is nice that you found solutions to your problems but it seems as if it all came a little too quickly and I was experiencing deja vu (though not quiet as bad). -
Read my other post again, I was debating what to do and was reaching out to anyone using a mac in their business. The heated debate mostly came from people posting mac versus windows comments. How this is deja vu for you I don't know. -
I also much prefer the apple touchpads... but at first i didn't, it took time to get used to them.

Instant Gratification and lack of research is why these posts pop up so much. I'm glad the OP is learning to deal with his shortcomings on getting used to a new product though.
It's a learning process. Contrary to popular belief and Mac's marketing speak, it doesn't "Just Work" you have to learn to make it work for you. -

I was using the cheap dell laptop at work today and I tried to use multitouch gestures...fail

And when I try to use the gestures... it pisses me off that i gotta drag my mouse to the start bar or back button hahahaha
